Yesterday would have been my dear friend’s 45th Birthday. This is the second year she has missed it. Two years of not seeing her two daughters grow into young women. As I sometimes grumble about getting older, I have to remind myself what a gift each year, each day is. Another day I get to be a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a friend. Hold my children, nurse them to health, teach them, cook for them. Just living the mundane, day in day out, is the biggest gift I can give them.

Simply being alive, however imperfectly,  brings more comfort to others than you can imagine. Each day we live we assure others that all is well and good.

This week I have been working on Valentines pictures and on “what my 3 year old is wearing this late winter/early spring” posts. It took some gentle persuasion at times, as my subject wasn’t always in the mood. Still I like how they have turned out and will share them soon.

Got an I pad for Christmas. Yay! The camera is so crisp and clear, I thought I’ll try a little food photography…

My mother in law has sent me these beauties. They grow voluntary and abundantly in California gardens. Don’t ask me what I have gone through to grow a couple of tomatoes in New Mexico…
