I did this post last year and since it fits so well I wanted to repost it today.
Did you wake up this morning and realize that it is getting really close to Thanksgiving?? Are you ready?
If you are teaching this week you might be focusing on our nation’s beginning. Here are some craft ideas I found via the Martha Stewart website for your visual learners.
How are you recovering from Halloween? Our youngest four are slowly emerging from a candy coma as a result of last night’s neighborhood sugar feast. Thankfully Emily caught a few shots before they headed out to trick or treat. This wasn’t the whole crew, some of their friends weren’t ready yet.
What a fun night! The chicken and little Roo from Winnie the Pooh sure were candy magnets…:)
This was our first Halloween without our two oldest (they went to friend’s houses). Sadly something I will have to get used to, sigh.

Three more weeks till Halloween!!! How did this happen so fast? This year I am hearing a lot of talk amongst my kids and their friends about “candy scoring costumes”. The conversation seems to have switched from “what do I want to be this year?” to “which costumes score the most candy?”. The general consent is not to dress up as Anna or Elsa, because there will be too many of those, which means less candy. Interesting logic…A lot of energy is spend on talking the youngest into wearing the chicken costume, because we know from experience that costume is way cute and gets LOTS of candy. 🙂
Here are some cute ones I have been pinning.

Here is my favorite! For those of you who were born in the 70’s, especially those from Germany, you know who this is…
Happy Independence Day to my American friends!
Having just been to the city where a lot of history is documented, this holiday takes on a whole new meaning. For me, as a fairly new citizen (maybe 15 years?), it was so exiting and fascinating to see all the monuments, the history they present, and the present seat of power.
Have a lovely weekend,

How was your Easter? Ours was the most low key we ever had (it was “just” us), still I am always amazed how exhausting it was. I think largely because When we were still a small family I started a whole bunch of traditions that have become burdensome with 6 kids. The baskets, the egg hunt, the big meal, going to church all dressed up on a day when it is the most crowded. My husband has seen it for years, but I am a little late coming to the realization that we need to make things simpler. Not sure how yet; maybe I’ll have the kids vote on what traditions we keep, and what we can do without. I remember years ago when my husband’s family decided not to give gifts to the adults anymore. Though I was sad at first it ended up doing away with a lot of stress. How about you, do you ever rethink and adjust your traditions? Or is everything pretty much fine tuned and as smooth as can be? Or somewhere in between?
Have a lovely week,

Are you into coloring easter eggs? If so, here is a fresh idea you might want to try. It is so easy, yet it adds instant style to your easter table. All you need are hard boiled eggs and a sharpie.
Have fun with these! The possibilities are endless.
Wow, I can’t believe Easter is in two weeks…Are you looking for some timeless and pretty spring dresses? The US company Olive Juice might be good place to look.
With four daughters I appreciate the timeless look of these dresses. They could easily be handed down and still look classy. I also like that the dresses could easily work for a wedding, communion, or other occasions. I have been admiring their Peter Pan collar dresses, but the sweater dress on top might be my new favorite…
What are your plans for Valentines? I’m afraid ours aren’t all that romantic. There is an orthodontist appointment, a roller skating party, and a birthday party. I do have a little surprise for the love of my life I’ll try to work in on this busy day… Hopefully we can go out for dinner tomorrow.
Have a great weekend, friends!
I’ll see you back here next week.
