This is a new to me children’s designer from Holland. I like how they combine Scandinavian folklore with neon and bright checkers. It all works together.
Reminds me a lot of Oilily. The grey hoodie with the tassels would look so cute on my 5 year old.

How was your weekend? Is it getting colder where you live or is it still in the 80’s like in New Mexico? I don’t know why, but every fall I feel like I should be riding my bike. Maybe it is because I rode my bike to school growing up. In my mind bikes, blankets, and hot coffee all go perfectly together. Here are some of my favorite bike pins.

I made an exiting discovery. There is a soccer league that doesn’t take over your entire week with several practices and games on Saturday. Stars is a recreational league that only meets on Saturdays for coaching and games. It is for ages 4-12. Sure it won’t make your child into a future super star soccer player. But if you are like us and you just want your child exposed to the sport and learn the basics, this is a good option. Here are several reasons why I like the idea of Saturday only sports. Family dinners are very important to us. Being hospitable and entertaining is important to us. Doing sports together as a family is also high on our priority list. But I have always resisted the pressure to sign my kids up to every sport imaginable and to shuttle them around every weeknight from an early age on. I just cannot reconcile with the notion of being a taxi driver and cheer leader all week long. It’s probably because I didn’t grow up playing organized sports. I played some volleyball in high-school but I was never good at it. My husband was on a soccer team and did pretty well. But even he doesn’t think that team sports enriched his life that much. What enriched him were backpacking trips, being out in nature.
So for us a Saturday only sport is an option to consider. This week is registration week. Not sure if we will do it, but I am glad to know the option is there.

I dug through some old pictures and found these. The Very Large Array is a pretty surreal place. Jodie Foster’s movie Contact was filmed there. It is in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico (2 hours southwest of Albuquerque), surrounded by nothing but high desert.
There is a museum and some outdoor activities to learn about astronomy. Astronomer all over the world use these giant telescopes for their research. Make sure the telescopes are in a favorable configuration before you come. Some configurations have the telescopes too far stretched apart and you won’t be able photograph them nicely in a row like I did above. We went there twice, so the pictures above are from a different visit than below with the kiddos. 
Gosh, they were so young. The boy in the blue shirt is my nephew. The last picture is my favorite. Just in case you are wondering what Shane had for lunch that day…
If you make the trip bring lots of sunscreen and a hat. There is absolutely no shade. There is nothing to eat there and the nearest town is half an hour away.

Here is the Boden fall/winter collection. As usual fun, colorful, and comfy, which is exactly why I like them so much. Take a look.
My favorite outfit would be the one top right, the boots, striped tights, yellow dress, and timeless grey cardigan. Toggle coats are my all time favorite.
I usually gravitate towards the toddlers section but they had so many good options for tween and teens, I had to share.
By now I imagine EVERYONE is back to school. For us it is week 4 already. Whew, time flies!
