Caramel Baby and Child

Hi there,

Drooling over kid’s fashion is a happy diversion for me. It has been ever since I found out about Oilily many many (I won’t tell you how many) years ago. I couldn’t believe how creative and stylish kid’s clothes could be. Recently through Pinterest I found bloggers who inspire daily with new children’s collections. Smudgetikka is one of them. The pictures below are from her blog.

How about that adorable baby with the gnome hat? My favorite is the girl (3rd picture from top) with the folklore shirt. I have been watching too many Sherlock series lately, so the boy’s hat hits the spot. So does the girl wearing green tweed sporting a Miss Marple look.

Caramel Baby and Child is a British company (of course) that blends a timeless tailored look with  quirky, modern touches.

You can find other children’s fashion I have been pinning here.

Have a great day!

Annika

Hello,

How is your week going? Mine is going well. With prospects of going to the Balloon Fiesta and celebrating our anniversary this week, it couldn’t be much better.

I thought I was done posting on children’s fashion for a while. But then I stumbled upon Annika. Best find on Pinterest last week for sure. I had some difficulty tracking down the source. As far as I can tell it is a South Korean company with a Swedish background. Not sure what I like more about it, the clothes, the props, or the fact that it takes me back to my own childhood.

Is this cute or what? The head scarves, the knee high socks, bloomers, and pea coat jackets. And the colors…I wouldn’t mind hanging out in this place all day.

While I keep drooling over these pictures you can find more on Pinterest or on their website e-annika.com.

Stay tuned for pictures from the Balloon Fiesta (if the weather holds up).

Tea Collection Fashion Shoot: Pre-School and Toddlers

Friends,

I’m so exited to share a recent project my friend Emily and I did. She and I both really like buying children’s clothes from an American company called “Tea”. Their clothes are so comfy and timeless. Between the two of us we have 10 kids, so we both have acquired quite a collection. I thought it would be fun to do a photo shoot to introduce you. Emily set up the the shoot, we dressed the kids up, gave them some toys to play with, and my friend started clicking away. I must warn you, this is cuteness overload….

Above we have Emily’s  little 17 month old Aida in a Tea dress purchased in January. My  23 month old Natasha is sporting a Tea top from last fall. Her pants are from Carters, and the shoes are from the Children’s Place.

This is my favorite shot of Natasha holding on to that monkey. The monkey really belongs to my husband. Really. Purchased at Target.

Here is my 4 year old Lucille with the monkey. Her grey Tea top is actually a size 2T  purchased this summer. I’m pretty sure this won’t fit Natasha for some time to come, so Lucille might as well enjoy it for a while. Her pants are from Nano, the ballet flat from Gymboree, and the pink hoodie  from REI.

Here she is waiting for the monkey, she threw in the air, to come back down.

This is the pose she has been practicing for the photo shoot.

I bought this Tea top last fall size 3. So it is a little small but still works. The great thing about these tops is that you can wear them as dresses or as long sleeve tops over leggings. They have a longer life that way.

Ha, little Aida got a hold of the monkey. Her Tea dress was purchased in January. Aren’t her red shoes adorable? I wouldn’t mind owning a pair myself. Natasha’s top was bought last year.

Here is 3 year old Hanna on the right with an complete tea outfit. The pants match a lot of tops; we own a pair, too.

On Hanna: Tea outfit and Hanna Anderson clogs. Lucille’s Tea outfit was purchased last year.

This concludes the pre-school toddler session. I’ll be back next with some outfits for school aged kids. Stay tuned.

Olive Juice Kids

Friends,

I’m really liking the fall collections I have seen for children and adults. There are some years it is very easy not to spend any money on clothes, but this year make me wish we had a two-income household.

I have mentioned my preference for colorful, mismatched clothes. However when I’m in the mood for matching and preppy I turn to Olive Juice Kids.

I like the ruffles, and collars. And the disheveled hair.  I think this collection is great for family portraits or Christmas cards, because it is timeless.

What do you think? Too preppy? They don’t have much for boys, and for some reason they have left out the baby collection for the fall. Maybe they will add that later.

It’s 8 clock, time to turn my attention to school. My 11 year old has already done her Latin and Literature, but my 14 year old is barely awake.

I’ll see you back here soon,

Sofija

Fall Outfits for Kids

Hi,

I’m eager to share a new to me children’s line from Belgium: Bellerose.

What intrigues me about this line is that the outfits are fun, mismatched, and slightly too small. In other words, that is exactly what I have in my kid’s closets. These outfits give me new ideas to work with what we already own. Take a look:

I like how they pair yellow with green or red. You can’t go wrong with toggle coats and Scandinavian sweaters. How about one of the boys wearing sweats? Some of my children have an aversion to jeans, so this makes total sense to me.

How about you, what inspires you for your wardrobe?
